Better to Design for Multiple Senses

Nice piece in ArsTechnica which makes the point that we should be designing interactive interfaces for multiple senses, not just for the limitations of one latest, easiest one.     And beyond that we should be consider the power of ritual and tactile elements in that interface.     Does this also have lessons for augmented reality?
