Update: It was pointed out to me that the Forbes article above provides motivation for the Why of Hadoop, but not the How. At least the How in relatively non-technical terms. IBM has a good page that explains that here. This page uses simple logical, not technical arguments for its use, but not its actual implementation. Nicely done.
