I did this kind of thing for some time in the enterprise, we did not call it a translator, but helped execs and other decision makers understand the results of analytics, interface with our contractors and also to commission new capabilities as needed. Someone always does this, and it does help to have it institutionalized. As methods become more complex and quickly emerging, it becomes yet more necessary.
