Tricorder Scanner Meets the Paper Jam

A discussion with a nurse last week about health recording devices was interesting.  Will the device of the future allow you to just wave it across the body to determine its state of health?  The device we were using had one problem:  It kept running out of printer paper.  The nurses there were concerned with keeping the paper from jamming.   My, how archaic.  Yet there are suggestions we are getting closer to the tricorder reality.  At the right an image of the fictional tricorder.
