IBM Buys Billions of Medical Images
A classic example of needing a wealth of training sets. We did similar things with the knowledge of our own enterprise. But found even that information to be far too small to establish enough to create very useful expressions of the expertise domain. You need huge quantities of image information to establish the patterns you need. A clear example of the 'Big' needed in data. IBM seeks to transform image-based diagnostics by combining its cognitive computing technology with a massive collection of medical images.
