Walmart Expands Drone-Delivery Service to Reach 4 Million Households

WalMart seems to be taking Drone  Delivery Very Seriously

Walmart Expands Drone-Delivery Service to Reach 4 Million Households   By CNBC

Walmart is expanding its partnership with DroneUp to make drone deliveries available in six more states this year.

Four million households in Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Utah, and Virginia will be able to receive products via drone in 30 minutes or less. The drone deliveries will be fulfilled from 37 stores, with 34 run by DroneUp.   A few stores in northwest Arkansas and North Carolina already offer drone deliveries.

Customers in range of a Walmart drone-delivery site can order up to 10 pounds of items, with a $3.99 fee assessed for each drone delivery. The package will be flown remotely by a certified pilot to the customer's yard or driveway and lowered by a cable.

Walmart's David Guggina said the service expansion will allow the retailer to make more than 1 million drone deliveries
