Forbes on R Software
In the Forbes blog. Excellent article on the open source R statistical package. The visualization capabilities are emphasized. I agree that it is the package you really have to have on hand and know for statistics. It is like a Wiki for statistical data manipulation, always being added to by researchers. So it acts as a community for statistical research. It is also being used increasingly in the enterprise, where they can expect to see job candidates trained in its use. At the same time, it does require programming skills to use effectively, so it is not a tool to be used by most managers directly.
