Watson to Upgrade with Deep Learning

This is a fundamental change.  The original Jeopardy form of Watson did not use deep learning via neural networks.   It was too easy to ascribe too much to it.   It is noted that Deep Learning has had considerable success, but primarily for very specialized applications.   Will it work for general knowledge analysis, as opposed to applications like image analysis?   IBM has most recently announced Watson's ability to 'see'.    In Technology Review:
