Stan Dyck points me to this example of a scannable code that can be placed on clothing and then read from a smartphone. Cleverly called in the image an 'extended identity'. Note somewhat of a similarity to TalkingTag, which I mentioned recently. We examined on-clothing messaging as early as 2000, but well before smartphone scanners were available to the consumer, I have seen RF tag applications do similar things as well. Controlling your message selectively for privacy is also part of the capability to consider.

Wearable Patches Contain Scannable Code
