$99 Tablet

Akin to the $99 laptop, the $99 tablet, which I wrote about in the enterprise some long time ago with the hope of getting some support to drive it world-wide.  Is the tablet the new standard ?  Is this the ultimate reduction of scale, to drive all of the world-wide community to the web?  And what will be the implications for innovation?
