Attended an online conference call about the sharing and use of medical data for analytics. Quite interesting. My own last couple of years of medical experiences have awakened me to how data is gathered, shared and can ultimately be used (or not) for analytic decision making. Noted speaker in the talk was Dick Moberg, who leads a group that deals with neurological monitoring. Still in the way, the continued siloing of data. Very similar in corporations in general. The belief is that reusable and sharable data trails will be in place within 5 years. This talk is in preparation for the Chicago symposium next week.
