What is more important for Microsoft, the data from its huge member base, or the algorithms that Linkedin has developed to utilize that data? Have never noticed anything particularly magic in Linkedin systems. Except for sheer volume and architecture management. If anything their interfaces have seemed shaky. But perhaps there some hidden science there. Computerworld says its the algorithms.
