Google discusses the current state of their language translation services. They now support translation to and from 34 languages. Along the way they admit that natural languages are hard, a clear example of why the most important aspects of artificial intelligence are some time away.
I applaud their continuing work in langauges. I have used their translation services a number of times. I know only two languages well enough to judge their accuracy, and what I get provides the gist of the text, but I would be very careful before using it for anything important.
