Makeover at HP Labs

Have been at HP Labs a number of times, have always been impressed by their researchers, but in recent years the IP paperwork has increasingly gotten in the way:

Under a new plan, HP Labs will dramatically scale back the number of projects its researchers focus on in order to put more effort into larger projects more likely to yield profitable products. Among three new initiatives with HP Labs, the Open Innovation Office will work to strengthen ties with outside government, academic and commercial entities ... "
