D-Wave Demonstrates First Large-Scale Quantum Simulation of Topological State of Matter From Inside HPC
D-Wave Systems researchers have demonstrated a topological phase transition using a 2048-quantum bit (qubit) annealing quantum computer, a complex quantum simulation of materials that marks a major step toward reducing the need for time-consuming physical research and development. The team says the techniques used in this work could have far-reaching implications in the development of novel materials.
