Linkedin APIs

I still recommend Linkedin first for people that are new to the use of social networking in business. Yet it is not open in the sense of being able to easily get information to other applications. In fact in the few conversations I have had with them it seemed that they were most interested in selectively leveraging their own information and not at all interested making it sharable. A new piece in ReadwriteWeb talks about this, and a Linkedin VP chimes in to say that their APIs will be improved. Exactly how is still unclear.
