SSN Numbers are Predictable

This saw much press yesterday, that a Carnegie Mellon professor has shown how using some fairly simple techniques social security numbers can in many cases be predicted, leading to increased potential for identity theft. It was pointed out that the Social Security Administration does not recommend using SSN's for personal identification.
