Algorithms that Write Books
In Mashable: We have a huge compendium of knowledge on the web, some public, some private, some hidden. It has always seemed to me there are ways to integrate this information into compact accumulations of knowledge. in other words: books. This is going in some interesting directions we will see more of.

Book Generation
In ReadwriteWeb: More detail on Phil Parker's econometric book generation algorithms. That are said to be generating millons of books that are sold on Amazon. This reminds me of a methodology called 'content analysis', which was used starting in the 60s to generate analyses of verbatim descriptions. Then produce scores and then use the scores to create interaction.
Based on the article, this kind of knowledge =book generation works best in highly specialized, narrow domains of knowledge, where the components of the knowledge already exists. A little like taking a list of URLs that you might use as an introduction to a topic, then converting that to more sculptured prose.

Generating and Selling Books and Content
An article on book generation. I have been involved for a few years book selling and auction systems, so this approach constructed by a professor at INSEAD to generate and even pre-generate books for sale on Amazon was most interesting. The connection to automated content generation through AI intelligence techniques mirrors some of our own work. He’s created a computer system that can write books about specific subjects in about 20 minutes. The patented algorithm has so far generated hundreds of thousands of books. In fact, Amazon lists over 100,000 books attributed to Parker, and over 700,000 works listed for his company, ICON Group International, Inc.
