Algorithms Failing in Context

I have seen many articles lately saying our world is driven by algorithms.   Algorithms have been my stock and trade, each constructed and employed for a particular purpose.  To perform a task, and do it better, faster and cheaper.  An algorithm implies we have the numbers or other data to plug into it, and the context to apply its result.  We often forget the latter, it's much harder to understand the context than turn an algorithmic key.  Caution.   Facebook is showing that error.
