More in my look at IOT's current activity.  A blockchain type encoding to provide access keys for conditional access.    Note the final suggestion that this could make a smartphone as a kind of universal key.

Jaguar, NTT Team Up with Tech Group on Remote Access Software

German technology group IOTA has announced a partnership with corporations that include automaker Jaguar Land Rover, chipmaker STMicroelectronics, and Japan's NTT Data system integration firm, to launch software that would enable consumers to remotely access and control devices like cars and appliances. The IOTA Access software also can grant and revoke conditional access for use of the remote devices by individuals other than the authorized user. IOTA’s Dominik Schiener said the software will be embedded in Jaguar vehicles. Said Schiener, “With IOTA Access, we have to focus on getting more to the consumer. You want to be able to use your phone to access anything. Our phones should be our personal keys.”

Pandemic Status Checker App Asks for Physical Symptoms?

Trial implies actually blocking campus access based on stored information.  Predictive?  Seems some of the information is based on simple query.    Implications of false positives and negatives?

About 1,000 University of Kansas graduate students and staff will trial a smartphone application designed to check for Covid-19 symptoms before permitting them to access the university campus. The CVKey system will ask users about their physical condition, and potential coronavirus symptoms, before generating a QR code that will permit access to six key buildings on campus. The non-profit CVKey organization said the app’s underlying code will be open source, and will store health data locally on each user's phone. Former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, a proponent of the system, observed efforts like this face opposition from data privacy advocates. She said, "We will see about the trust element of [CVKey], and whether or not we can engage a population in using it."  ... "

Identity and Access Intelligence

Gave an invited talk at the SCCE Corporate Compliance conference yesterday in Chicago about compliance analytics.  Met a number of new people and saw examples of their work.  Here is an example that looked of interest, they are using data visualization to provide identity and access intelligence to detect data privacy breaches.  Good use of the method.  See:   Veriphyer.   See also their blog, which has lots of interesting examples.
