I agree with the three innovations needed for new assistants, like the rumored Apple/Siri:
Easy giving/taking/managing phone calls.
Have true conversations / interactions with your knowledge (probably the hardest to do well)
Be able to summarize/manage email, text interactions (Likely combined with Phone) .....
And I add: Be able to insert an intelligent and analytic assistant for your industry. That solves problems, Scours data Sources, and makes proactive suggestions of value.
